Through Landsbyggare 2.0, the development office's own project, we want to give more people courage, knowledge, and inspiration to realize ideas that can develop the countryside. Through meetings, roadmaps, and inspiring stories, new paths are created from idea to action and more good examples of rural development.

LANDSCAPER 1.0
Landsbyggare 2.0 is a further development of the project Landsbyggare Hälsingebygden. In the first round, we highlighted Landsbyggare from Hälsingebygden through portrait films on social media and organized two Landsbyggare evenings – a digital workshop and a physical meeting, with lectures, inspiration, and opportunities for experience exchange.
The square images here are a selection of the Landsbyggare we portrayed: Émile Bylund, Hunker Junker, Söderhamn and Helena Brusell, Trolska Skogen, Mellanfjärden.
LANDSBYGGARE 2.0 — A FURTHER DEVELOPMENT
At the end of December 2024, Landsbyggare 1.0 was wrapped up and reported to the Swedish Board of Agriculture. But we wanted more! We wanted to develop the project! So in January 2025, we submitted a new application and the project then started in June 2026.
In Landsbyggare 2.0, we continue to spread good examples of rural builders, but we also want to be involved and more actively lay the foundation for new rural builders.
WE LIFT RURAL BUILDERS
We Landsbyggare Hälsingebygden lift entrepreneurs and passionate individuals who dare to pursue their dreams and want to inspire others to do the same.
About the project
The purpose of the project is to contribute to sustainable and thriving rural development by creating pathways from idea to action for more, new, inexperienced, and young actors. The project will also highlight inspiring examples of rural development and thereby contribute to continued development in Hälsingland.
The goal of the project is to
- organize 4 Landsbyggare evenings.
- develop individual roadmaps for 10 passionate individuals/entrepreneurs.
- produce and spread 6 Landsbyggare films that show inspiring examples of rural development.
- create 1 compilation film.
- create 8 shorter clips from the Landsbyggare portraits.
The project consists of
- map needs, wishes, and ideas.
- organize Landsbyggare evenings.
- offer skills development in communication and other areas based on participants' needs.
- develop individual roadmaps for passionate individuals and entrepreneurs.
- identify inspiring examples that can contribute to development in the area.
- develop marketing and communication materials as well as produce film, image, and text materials for social media and other channels.
- administer, account for, and report on the project.
TIPS ON A RURAL BUILDER FOR US TO PORTRAY?
Who is a rural builder?
A rural builder is an entrepreneur and passionate individual who lives and works in our countryside. This can be a business owner or an active member of an association. Our countryside is the leader area Hälsingebygden's geographical area with Hälsingland's six municipalities: Söderhamn, Bollnäs, Hudiksvall, Ljusdal, Ovanåker, Nordanstig as well as the area of eastern Härjedalen municipality: Ytterhogdal, Överhogdal, Ängersjö, Älvros.

May 2023–Dec 2024. The project produces 9 portraits of Landsbyggare around Hälsingebygden and organizes 2 Landsbyggare evenings.
LAND BUILDER 2.0
June 2026–Estimated end time April 2028. We continue to produce portraits of Landsbyggare and further develop the project with more activities to inspire more to become landsbyggare!
