Lemansparken in Sörforsa
”A boost for the community, a place activation that creates pride among the local actors who live and operate there, and who have been involved in the process of influencing the content of the park”
A community creates together – The park where the past meets the present
About the project
The purpose of the project is to shape a meeting place around the clock with content that attracts several generations to knowledge building about the local history and pride in their place. For a more attractive place to live and operate where civil society and local businesses can thrive together.

IMAGES FROM THE INAUGURATION IN AUGUST 2026
Inauguration of Lemansparken
Approximately 400 people of all ages attended the inauguration day of Sörforsas new park Lemansparken on August 15th! The day featured speeches and musical entertainment, candy rain, and refreshments! The speakers during the day were Cia Olsson, Forsa parish heritage association, Pär Eriksson, Holma Helsingland, and Annika Huber, technical works, Hudiksvall municipality.
Stefan Barenfeld, urban and rural strategist, Hudiksvall municipality.
Hooray! The start notice has finally arrived from the Board of Agriculture. How does it feel to be underway?
It feels wonderful, finally. It has been a long process from the idea after a storm meeting in Sörforsa in February 2024 to it now becoming a reality in May 2026. It’s important not to give up, to lift your gaze and see where you are going and from there take it step by step. To work closely with the people in their place where they live and operate.
What does the project mean for the community?
A boost for the community, I would say. A place activation from a grassroots perspective that I believe primarily creates PRIDE among the local actors who live and operate there, who have been involved in the process of influencing the content of the park.
This means in turn, I believe, that it creates ambassadorship and it should attract new visitors which can initiate relocation. But above all, that people also stay and thrive.
